BIC Sport was established in 1979 by the baron Marcel Bich, a sea lover who had noticed the growing popularity of windsurfing at the time. He had confidence in the future of the sport and invested in ultra modern machines allowing him to manufacture thousands of windsurf boards at an affordable price. For 20 years, BIC Sport has written windsurf history with an array of legendary competitors and shapers. In 2000, BIC Sport won the World Championship (PWA) title, and in 2001 became the Formula Windsurfing World Champion. BIC Sport also remains a world leader in surfboard production.
